Quality Assurance Engineer (m/w/d)

Your mission

You will strengthen our international team in product development and help us to further improve our own products and implement projects for our clients.
As an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer you will execute specific tests on an ad-hoc basis, deliver crucial feedback to uphold our products' highest standards of quality and usability, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of Quality Assurance at UJAM.

Your Tasks

At UJAM, you play a central role in the development, improvement and delivery of innovative software applications.

Execute test plans and cases for virtual instrument software, identifying bugs and usability issues.
Conduct manual black box testing to validate product features and functionalities against acceptance criteria and user expectations.
Perform exploratory testing to uncover potential defects, usability issues, and edge cases.
Ensure compatibility and performance across various platforms and DAW environments.
Conduct regression testing, validate bug fixes, and ensure the stability of product releases.
Collaborate closely with the product development team to comprehend user stories, acceptance criteria, and testing requirements.
Participate in sprint meetings to contribute insights on testing efforts, share testing progress, address impediments, and collaborate with team members to achieve sprint goals.
Offer detailed feedback and documentation on test outcomes, including steps to reproduce any identified issues.
Proactively escalate critical issues to the product development team for resolution.
Remain adaptable to shifting priorities and project needs while upholding high-quality testing standards.
Continuously seek opportunities to enhance testing processes, automation strategies, and overall product quality.
Improve the existing test suite with new test cases and streamline by revisiting, rephrasing or deleting existing tests
Maintain a set of test systems (Windows and macOS) with and for the your QA colleagues

Your profile

Your Competence

Demonstrated experience (2+ years) in quality assurance or software testing.
Proficiency in manual black box testing techniques, test case design, and defect tracking.
Experience in music production with various DAWs and plug-ins.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Experience with test automation frameworks is a plus

Details on Remote Working Policy

UJAM is a distributed team with team members currently located in more than six countries across three continents. Our headquarters is in Bremen, where we usually meet for specific meetings, or just for lunch. Additionally, we have a small office in Berlin. Although we try to meet in person regularly, the requirement to be physically present is extremely rare.

Deine Aufgaben

Du verstärkst unser internationales Produktentwicklungsteam und hilfst dabei, unsere eigenen Produkte weiterzuentwickeln sowie Projekte für unsere Kunden in der Auftragsentwicklung umzusetzen. Mit Deiner Erfahrung stellst Du die Erfüllung höchster Ansprüche an Qualität und Nutzerfreundlichkeit unserer Produkte sicher und arbeitest an der kontinuierlichen Verbesserung der Qualitätssicherung bei UJAM mit.

Bei UJAM spielst du eine zentrale Rolle in der Entwicklung und Verbesserung von innovativen Softwareprodukten.

Durchführung von Testplänen und -fällen für virtuelle Instrumente,
Identifizierung von Fehlern und Nutzerfreundlichkeitsproblemen.
Durchführung manueller Black-Box-Tests zur Validierung von Produktfunktionen gemäß Akzeptanzkriterien und Nutzererwartungen.
Durchführung explorativer Tests zur Aufdeckung potenzieller Defekte, Nutzerfreundlichkeitsprobleme und Grenzfälle.
Sicherstellung von Kompatibilität und Leistung auf verschiedenen Plattformen und DAWs.
Durchführung von Regressionstests, Validierung von Fehlerkorrekturen und Sicherstellung der Stabilität von Produktveröffentlichungen.
Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Deinem Team, um Anwendungsfälle, Akzeptanzkriterien und Testanforderungen zu verstehen.
Teilnahme an Sprint-Meetings, um Einblicke in Testaufwände zu geben, Testfortschritt zu teilen, Hindernisse zu adressieren und mit Deinen Teammitgliedern koordiniert die Sprint-Ziele zu erreichen.
Bereitstellung detaillierter Information und Dokumentation zu Testergebnissen, einschließlich Schritten zur Reproduktion identifizierter Probleme.
Proaktive Eskalation kritischer Probleme an Dein Team zur Lösungsfindung.
Mitgestaltung zur Verbesserung von Testabläufen, Automatisierungsstrategien und allgemeiner Produktqualität.
Verbesserung des bestehenden Testfallbestands durch neue Testfälle und Optimierung durch Überprüfung, Neuformulierung oder Löschung bestehender Tests.
Wartung unserer Testsysteme (Windows und macOS) mit Deinen QA-Kollegen.

Dein Profil

Deine Kompetenz

Einschlägige Erfahrung (2+ Jahre) in Qualitätssicherung und Softwaretests.
Beherrschung von manuellen Black-Box-Testtechniken, Testfallentwurf und Fehlerverfolgung.
Erfahrung in der Musikproduktion mit verschiedenen DAWs und Plug-Ins.
Gute schriftliche und mündliche Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Englisch.
Erfahrung mit Testautomatisierungsframeworks ist von Vorteil.

UJAM ist ein verteiltes Team, dessen Teammitglieder derzeit in mehr als sechs Ländern und drei Kontinenten arbeiten. Wir haben unseren Hauptsitz in Bremen, wo wir uns normalerweise zu bestimmten Meetings, oder auch nur mal zum Mittagessen, treffen. Zudem gibt es ein kleines Büro in Berlin. Obwohl wir versuchen, regelmäßig persönlich zusammenzukommen, ist eine Anwesenheitspflicht äußerst selten.
